Austin, Texas native since 1994, born along the Texas–Mexico border, David Rios grew up immersed in both Mexican and American culture, fostering a deep bilingual and bicultural identity rooted in music, media and entertainment.

What started off as a DJ job at a small town radio station, David Rios has established a career of yest in the music, media and entertainment industries, working for prestigous organizations such as the GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY Awards, Univision Radio & TV, the University of Incarnate Word as well as independant contractor services for the Texas Lottery, Austin PBS, Henna Chevrolet, Mexican National Soccer Team and many more.

•    Background: Born in Del Rio, Texas, along the Texas–Mexico border, David Rios grew up immersed in both Spanish and English, fostering a deep bilingual and bicultural identity   .

    •    Early Path in Media: While still in high school, he found a job at a local radio station KDLK 94.3 FM as a board operator, then nights, then mid-days.  During this time he met a bar owner from Acuña, Mexico that invited him to come play. And so started DJing in nightclubs across Mexico. Later, he moved to Austin (1995) to pursue college and continued working in radio and DJing   .

    •    Education: Earned a Bachelor’s in Business Management from St. Edward’s University and a Master’s in Mass Communications from Texas State University  .

    •    Career Highlights:

    •    Recording Academy (GRAMMYs): Served as Project Manager, organizing showcases, educational events, and panels  .

    •    Univision: Spent over 11 years advancing from Producer and Entertainment Reporter to Creative Director for TV and radio marketing. He produced concerts, events, and televised performances featuring top Latin acts  .

    •    Entrepreneurship: In 2018, he founded Rivers Media Agency, a boutique marketing agency offering talent and media production services in Austin  .

    •    Current Ventures as Talent, Agency Owner and Online Course Creator:

    •    Appears on air in commercials (e.g., Chevrolet) and hosted a top-rated weekend music TV show  .

    •    Adjunct Professor at the University of the Incarnate Word, teaching Marketing for over 7 years  .

    •    Bilingual announcer for the Texas Lottery broadcasts  .

    •    Creator of the Media Master Course, an online program designed to help individuals monetize their talents in digital media  .
